Point motors
Historical
For some reason, I opted to operate the three points using standard R/C servos. Controllers for the servos were purchased from MUTR. They comprised a small control board, cables and a trimming pot.
The servos were mounted under the board on wooden cradles. The points had levers set to one side on long sleepers. The levers extended below the board and connected with the servo cranks using brass rod. Screw terminal blocks were used mid-span to provide easy adjustment. The points are actuated by a single button on the IR transmitter working like a latching push-button switch. These operate 5v relays to separate the power supplies. |
